Lake District Residency 25 - 30 May 2009

I am very pleased to have been invited to take part in the Lake District Summer Music Festival 4x4 Composer Residency in May. I will be working with the vocal quartet, The Orlando Consort, and Composer John Casken over the course of the week's residency, which will culminate in the performance of a new work.

As initial material has to be ready in April, I shall be very busy writing over the next few weeks! The piece will combine verses of Psalm 46 with texts by Wordsworth. I am really looking forward to trying out my ideas with the group in May. I am also looking forward to exploring the Lake District, as this is a part of England I have not yet visited. The timetable for the week looks exciting - and quite busy too!
